Often, I envy other photographers who have more sophisticated gears and chances to photograph beautiful and sexy photo models. Honestly, there was a wee bit of that feeling inside me, especially when I see the cropped sensor Canon EOS 700D on my hand.
However, it was always a slight moment because streets immediately invites me to focus more in finding other types of beauties. And, it won’t take too long for me to aware that pretty models or gears have nothing to do with the excitement of becoming a street photographer.
Like, the above picture taken during the Cap Go Meh Bogor Street Festival 2018 on Suryakencana Street, Bogor City, it was captured just moments after I stared for few minutes to another photographer with their more expensive camera.
I think I should feel blessed to find such moment full of cuteness. Yeah, that’s why I put the title of “unbearable cuties on the street”. I smiled and felt happiness flow inside my vein seeing those kids waiting for a parade to begin.
Their gesture and facial expression are so cute.
Really unbearable that I took several shoots just to make sure I didn’t skip the moment.
At that time, I forgot about how cheap my camera was and that the subjects of my pictures were not perfectly shaped body models.
Streets teach me so well that being a street photographer is more than just about how expensive your camera and how beautiful your objects are. It is about how you enjoy the happiness and joy provided by the street.
Besides, no matter how beautiful your model is, they won’t win when compared to the cuteness of kids. At least, that is what I think.
